Statutory Assessments

Statutory assessments are assessments that schools are required by the Department for Education to complete. Statutory assessments take place in Early Years Foundation Stage, Year 1, Year 4 and Year 6. From September 2023, the end of Keys Stage 1 (Year 2) assessments became non-statutory.

Phonics Screening Check (Year 1)

When: Week commencing Monday 10th June 2024 

How: Children are asked to read 40 words on flash cards with their teacher

End of Key Stage 1 Assessments (Year 2)

When: May 2024

How: Children complete a series of short, age-appropriate test papers for Maths, Reading and Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar.

When: Fortnight commencing Monday 3rd June 2024

How: Children answer 25 multiplication questions through an on-screen check
